GEF-PAS Country Support Programme

Samoa is a small Pacific Island Country (PICs) between Fiji and Hawaii, suffering from numerous and severe environmental challenges. The Global Environment Facility (GEF) is investing $USD3Billion into global environmental restoration and protection. $USD100Million has been offered (April, 2008) to the PICs to help implement a Pacific Alliance of Sustainability (PAS). Pacific Islanders were once the Professors of Sustainability here in Oceania for over 40,000 years.

This G-PAS Country Support Programme (CSP) Work Plan Activity is addressed in this posting and will be constantly updated to help increase coordination among national agencies with a view to ensuring greater country ownership and a cohesive approach across the govt to global environmental issues and GEF support.
