G-PAS Project Identification Forms (PIFs)

Samoa has prepared its 6 national priority draft PIFs for consideration by the GEF Secretariat and relevant GEF Implementing Agencies (IAs) at the Bali UNFCCC Conference 4-12th December, 2007.


The following 6 GEF and Italian-funded proposals are:

1. Energy Efficiency in the Transport Sector (Italian funded)

2. Greenhouse Gas Abatement through Energy Efficiency in the Electricity and Building Sectors and Biofuel Applications

3. Integrated Climate Change Adaptation in Samoa

4. Sustainable Management of Forest Resources on Savaii Island

5. Sustainable Management of Coastal Resources at Vaiusu Bay

6. Sustainable Management of Chemical and Carbon Releases in the Tourism Sector

The Italian-funded proposal (Energy Efficiency in the Transport Sector) is to be funded separately from G-PAS and a decision may be made at the Climate Change Meeting in Bali in December 2007.

The other 5 G-PAS proposals may be further reviewed and re-synthesized again at this meeting in Bali at the G-PAS side-event. However, the following 6 postings display each draft PIF proposal as presented to G-PAS for consideration.
